Vasari Talk last minute reminder: Analyzing Geometry using Curtain Panels and Reporting Parameters

2012-01-25_0911

I’m going to be leading our free webinar later this morning, talking about using panels and reporting parameters to mine information from forms.

Register now! Wed, Jan 25, 2012 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM EST

Questions on this topic? Post them here.

  • Summary: The ability for pattern-based curtain panels to "report" on their local conditions is an extremely powerful aspect of Project Vasari and Revit's parametric toolkit. In this Vasari Talk we will introduce reporting parameters and how they can be used to analyze geometry.
  • Learning Goals: At the end of this session, you will be able to:
    1. Define reporting parameters in a panel
    2. Pull information out of geometry using panels
    3. Drive data back into panels

  1. Great session. one question i had that i posted to late to be answered. is there a way to define your geometry/material of a Pattern based panel based on deflection? i was thinking possibly with a nested adaptive component?

  2. Hadlari,
Yes, you could do it with a nested adaptive component. Take a look at this post for some tips on just such a situation: http://buildz.blogspot.com/2011/03/surface-analysis.html

  3. Great blog, made me appreciate revit much more !But can I ask you another question Can you cut pattern based families with voids or turn them into a void.(after they have created some geometry in the host family)

  4. Hi An Onymous
Sort of . . . try this post for a hacky way to do it.
